Background

Meituan assigns different icons to verified streamers based on their type: a yellow icon for official Meituan streamers and a blue icon for official enterprise streamers.

Problem Analysis

Users couldn't access this information directly from the icons. They had to click on the streamer's avatar to open the streamer card bottom sheet, then click the homepage button to visit the streamer's profile. Only on the streamer's profile could they find the icon explanation in the upper right corner and understand its meaning. The complex operation path and hidden explanation made it difficult for users to grasp the meaning of these two icons even after prolonged use.

According to telephone interviews, users are more inclined to shop from officially verified streamers. Their perception of whether a streamer is verified directly influences their trust, ultimately affecting their likelihood of placing an order.

Therefore, to improve clarity and make it easier for users to understand the meaning of the icon at a glance, I redesigned the icon.

Livestream

I designed 4 plans and ultimately chose Plan 4.

  • Plan 1: The top of the interface is too crowded.

  • Plan 2: The text is difficult to read due to the low contrast between the orange background and the white "Official" label.

  • Plan 3: The icon is hard to distinguish when the streamer's avatar has a similar color.

  • Plan 4: Effectively addresses issues in Plans 1-3, ensuring clarity, readability, and ease of recognition.

Bottom Sheet

I designed 3 plans and ultimately chose Plan 3.

  • Plan 1: Too conventional, making it less effective in drawing user attention.

  • Plan 2: Leaves a large blank space in the upper right corner of the bottom sheet, making inefficient use of space.

  • Plan 3: Stands out by allowing the streamer's avatar to break the edge, making it more visually engaging. It also reduces the bottom sheet area by utilizing space more efficiently.
